Why is this training so effective? Tens of thousands of dogs have been successfully trained this way . . . because dogs love to learn and they love to please. They get the message quicker and learn faster when the reward for doing it right is enthusiastic praise with love and affection.

Your dog's temperament is determined. There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to Uncle Matty dog training. Training techniques are tailored to your dog's unique personality and needs. He'll learn faster with a minimum of problems. We don't work with a timid or shy dog the same way we communicate with a stubborn dog or one who is high energy. That's why our results are so outstanding.

Your dog is trained from the dog's point of view. It's like communicating with a person who has an entirely different point of view. It is much easier, if you consider the other person's point of view and come from that direction than trying to force your attitudes down his throat. This is custom dog training.

Your dog is never punished for his mistakes. You can't lose it with any dog if he doesn't understand. Patience is truly a virtue when training and problem solving. Yelling at your dog, threatening him, using a rolled up newspaper, only makes training more difficult. Teaching a pooch requires communication with love and praise. In order to achieve expert results, the right kind of instruction and repetition, repetition, repetition, are employed ---   until your dog understands his trainer and you -- and he will.

When your dog doesn't understand, corrections are firm and with authority, yet kind and non-abusive -- your trainer is a master at getting your dog's attention and communicating, but NEVER angry or abusive no matter how long it takes. Dogs are actually better than people. They don't carry grudges, so the trick is to make sure he is being corrected and not punished.

We also train you! This is extremely important. You have to know how to communicate with an educated dog so you can both live in harmony. We teach the dog and the owner.

Custom Training. Dogs have different temperaments and some dogs learn faster than others. Remember, all dogs are unique, just like people. But they can all learn regardless of breed or age. Of course, for your sanity and the dog's well being, early training early training when your dog is a puppy is the best.
